Privacy Policy — VietCam

The short version

VietCam requires no account and collects no name, email, phone number or contacts from you. The app has no developer-owned server and no developer analytics. Data you create in the app (favorites, routes) stays on your device only.

Camera images

Your device loads camera images directly from the Ho Chi Minh City public traffic portal (giaothong.hochiminhcity.gov.vn). Nothing passes through a developer-operated intermediary server. The portal may log access under its own policy. VietCam does not re-host camera feeds and does not record them.

Location

Only when you tap “Cameras near me” does the app read your device location, to compute distances to cameras and sort the list. Your location is not sent to the developer, not stored, and not tracked continuously. You may refuse location permission and still use every other feature (except “near me” ranking).

Favorites, routes and thumbnails

Favorites and routes are stored in the app's storage on your device, never synced, never sent anywhere. Uninstalling the app deletes them. Preview thumbnails are stream screenshots kept temporarily on your device (the app's private folder) for the list screen; they are not uploaded anywhere.

Advertising (via Google)

Banner ads (list screen only) are served by Google AdMob. Google and its advertising partners may collect device/advertising identifiers under Google's Privacy Policy.

Not affiliated with the government

VietCam is an independent app by Maylua Studio. It is not a government app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government body. Camera data belongs to its publisher, the Ho Chi Minh City public traffic portal.

Your choices and policy changes

You can delete app data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app. If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here before the app update takes effect.
